Estimating is at the forefront of all contractors and house builders front line operations. Selecting target markets, sites, bidding competitively and bidding accurately, taking cognisance of all cost, design and time parameters all form part of the many decisions that your business must take to win work.

The ability to describe, quantify and price work to understand implicitly the projects net costs, and the areas of manageable risk is of key importance to the ongoing life, success and profitability of the project. Whether a traditional tender or complex design and build project, the estimator/ bid manager requires a tool to assist in the management of the tender, to support key tender adjudication decisions, ultimately supporting what tender price to submit.

Commercial management of projects relies heavily on the quality of decisions and information produced pre-contract. Diligently managing the commercial process to final account, constantly monitoring the project against defined budgets defines whether the project is profitable, or not. Post contract systems should allow the surveyor access to the complete tender information, and allow the project to be re-defined into any operational package to perform internal, external and sub-contract valuations at any level of detail.

Information systems should provide a common framework, enabling companies, departments and working disciplines to integrate commercial processes, workflows and data across disparate applications. Supporting and integral to the core estimating application is a detailed package management module, enabling subcontract and materials packages to be compared, analysed, selected and used. This module itself is supported by an integral vendor database, that speeds up the production of pre and post contract enquiries against your QA approved sub-contractors and suppliers

All expected estimating functionality have been carefully engineered into the system harnessing the latest Windows™ technologies to speed up the tendering process without compromising audit and control. Traditional keyboard control is now supported by Windows 2007 interfaces, Excel™ spreadsheet views and dynamic links to common Office applications.
