Oilfield Services Software Briefing - May 2008

Thainstone House, Inverurie, was the setting for the Briefing, focused on the benefits of using an integrated ERP software system for managing equipment, personnel, and projects. Speakers included John Edwards, from Microsoft Scotland, and Peter Burgham and Mike Dalziel of Sage Construction. Further briefings are planned for later this year. The attendees were praising of the venue and the efforts of the hotel staff in organising and catering the event.

Four of the Acteon Group companies have begun the roll-out of the world-class Microsoft Dynamics NAV enterprise software system. Consolidating from a variety of older systems, the Group will gain the benefits of a standardised solution, providing corporate management reporting quickly and efficiently via a link to a set of Jet Reports designed in-house by the Acteon project team. The overall solution also allows for each company (Trident, IMS, Seatronics, LDD) to exercise a degree of autonomy and flexibility in its day-to-day processes.

Dron & Dickson Growth - Jan 2008

Long-standing customer, Dron & Dickson Ltd, suppliers and installers of a vast range of offshore materials, eg safety equipment, cable accessories, switchgear, and electrical lighting for use in hazardous areas, celebrated the new year with the announcement of record revenues. Colin Rowley, Managing Director, added that further growth would see the company shortly opening a new facility in Abu Dhabi.
