Crane and Hoist offers a complete spectrum of engineering services from refurbishment, conversion and modernisation of existing equipment to the development of new mechanical handling solutions. Service provides sales service support and 24 hour breakdown cover to ensure that customers’ equipment can be maintained and supported throughout its long-term operation. Special Projects offers bespoke engineering solutions for any kind of materials handling system, no matter how obscure - from concept proposals to design, manufacture and installation, as well as after-sales support services.

Street CraneXpress has offered bespoke solutions for materials handling systems for clients in many sectors from glass manufacturing and ship building to nuclear energy and aerospace plants. Indeed the company even assisted with the building of The Sage, Gateshead a concert venue of which the Sage Group plc is one of the founding patrons. This impressive building was reliant on Street CraneXpress considering all the elements required for the shaping and modelling of the wall surfaces, material selections and construction methods. The company installed mobile lighting rigs, height adjustable sound bafflers and orchestra platform risers, amongst other specialist equipment, for the three halls at Tyneside's home of music. More recent projects include the design and installation of the retractable roof at Wimbledon.

Work on such impressive and famous buildings requires impressive project management. With their previous software system, Street CraneXpress were experiencing difficulty extracting the reports they required. Sophie Stead, Financial Controller, says “As the company has grown, we needed a more flexible system with better financial reporting. Sage ERP EVision was just that and we really liked the fact that it is visually appealing. This means that it’s far more user-friendly than other systems and makes it much easier for training staff in the use of the software.”

IT Manager, Andy Pugh, was also impressed with Sage Construction’s track record for implementation and delivery of solutions – “Sage ERP EVision has a quicker and easier implementation process than other systems and what’s more it’s proven. This means we’ll save a serious amount of money on implementation days. It’s something that some companies don’t remember to factor in when choosing a new system but when it’s so important to spend efficiently, we considered it to be very important.”
